Safety guidelines

For everyone

• Keep conversations on Tutoria until you trust each other. Never send passwords, ID documents or card details in messages.
• Agree the price, platform and payment method before the lesson. For first lessons, prefer payment methods with buyer protection.
• Use the Report link on any post, profile, slot or message that looks wrong. Moderators review every report.

Children and teenagers

• Requests for learners under 16 must be posted by a parent or guardian, and accounts for children should use a first name only.
• Parents should attend or be nearby during online lessons with young children, and lessons should happen on platforms the parent can see.
• Tutors must never ask a minor for personal contact details or to move to a private chat.
• Report any child-safety concern with the reason “Child safety concern” — these reports are handled first.

Verified tutors

A Verified tutor badge means the Tutoria team reviewed the tutor's identity and qualifications. It is not a background check unless the profile explicitly says so. Ask tutors for references when in doubt.
