How Tutoria works
Tutoria is a meeting place for tutors of every language and subject and the students looking for them — from preschoolers (with their parents) to adults and seniors.
Accounts appear on the fly
You get an account the moment you arrive: look at the top-right corner. Browse, post a request or add the times you want lessons straight away. Add an email and password whenever you like to keep the account, use it on other devices and get verified. Tutors who get verified unlock the Tutors' Lounge and a badge on their posts.
The board
- Tutor offers list subjects and languages (combine them: Electronics in English, Gaming in Spanish), levels, age groups, platforms, payment methods and an hourly rate.
- Student requests list what the learner needs, their level and age group, and a budget.
- Instead of a checkmark, every need or service is rated 1–3: a student marks conversation as top priority, a tutor marks exam preparation as a specialism. That makes good matches easy to spot — Tutoria shows a match score.
The timetable
Lessons are booked in 1-hour slots (50 minutes of class). The weekly and monthly views show, for every hour, how many tutors are available and the price range, and how many students want a lesson then.
- Tutors publish open slots with their rate; students request them or join the waitlist.
- Students publish the times they want with a budget; tutors claim them — or offer to be the backup tutor.
- The slot owner accepts one person. Everyone else becomes a ranked backup: if the accepted person drops out, backup #1 takes over automatically.
Platforms and payment
You agree where the lesson happens (MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or Classroom, Preply, WhatsApp, a private platform, in person…) and how to pay (PayPal, bank transfer, Wise, Revolut, BLIK, cash…). Tutoria keeps a simple shared record of each booking and its payment status. Paying through Tutoria is planned for a later version.
Currencies and time zones
Prices are entered in any currency and shown in yours (change it in the top bar). All times are shown in your own time zone.
